This keeps happening

I don`t know what to call this, is this the fate or the mistakes of some people who want to make business more profitable by leasing out places which doesn`t follow any norms or the mistake of people who in spite of knowing that their work place has flaws as for as the safety norms are concerned keep quiet till the date they suffer some lives.
9 people were killed today in Bangalore and now questions will arise again as they have come up many times before at the time of grief of losing their kin or friend or any fellow citizen. ‘Why was not this done at the building? ‘Or ‘why was this not there or how come there was no fair evacuation way!’ Well, any answer to any of these question will not bring back lives of those who lost either by trying to save themselves from fire by jumping from their floor or by staying in the building, hoping somehow they are going to survive by some way! Suffocation killed them don`t know if it was fear as well.
I passed in front of the building today while coming back from work and there were police men still in sight. May be they were trying to find out the reason and it looked like building had been evacuated. The interesting point was before my cab passed that building, there stood the Manipal hospital where the rescued guys were treated. As usual there was some minister who had come to visit those who were in hospital and not surprisingly while he was on his way out of the hospital, the barricade which was there to avoid people from taking U turn while coming from HAL airport or taking right turn from Manipal hospital was removed just to allow minister to take right turn and go towards HAL/Marthhalli. You see, the law and rules can be changed depending on who you are!! Poor driver of my cab has to listen to short tempered policeman as he wasn`t aware that they were removing barricade to allow the honorable minister and kept moving!!
When I reached home, I just saw the footage on TV where some of the mobile camera feed was showing those guys who jumped from the building to save their life. I felt sad, why their employer was so careless about their lives. One need not be intelligent to guess that builder must have find ways to maximize the space and must have managed BBMP. It’s easy to manage our babus and politicians are not alone to be blamed.
Questions will remain always unanswered; why? Why weren`t norms followed in the building? How come the building came up without following the norms? How come some employer will lease place like this? And, how come no one questioned the safety norms of the building. As usual, after an incident we all rise questions and it will be news for a while and the news too dies!
One of my friends was worried how will the employees work in that place for a while? I`m sure the companies will work around for this; that’s why HR department gets paid. What hurts me is those nine lives who will never login again at work.
